HPC Overview
HPC stands for “High Performance Computing”. HPC is used to provide solutions to problems that require significant computational power or problems that need to access and process large quantities of data very quickly.
Traditionally, universities, research organizations and large companies use super computers for engineering number crunching. Super computers are extremely expensive machines that cannot be afforded by smaller organizations. However, most of the organizations need large computational power to find solutions to business problems.
HPC CLUSTERS: Multiple commodity computer systems linked together to “work as one system” is known as Clustering. Clusters used for High Performance Computing is generally called as “High Performance Computational (HPC) Clusters”.
POWER-X HPC CLUSTERS: We integrate our own HPC Clusters in the brand name of “Power-X HPC Clusters”. We use the latest x86 products/technologies from TYAN, INTEL & AMD & build our Power-X HPC Clusters.
OUR VISION: Our Vision is to become one of the leading HPC Cluster Solutions provider for the R&D/Academic Institutions, Defence & Corporates in India. To create our own brand of “Power-X HPC Clusters” based on the latest x86 Technologies.

Beowulf Clusters
BEOWULF CLUSTERS: Beowulf is a design for high-performance parallel computing clusters on Commodity Off-The Shelf (COTS) computer hardware.
Clustering History: The concept of Beowulf Clusters originated at the Center of Excellence in Space Data and Information Sciences (CESDIS), located at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland, US. Dr. Donald Becker & Dr. Thomas Sterling first deployed Beowulf Clusters. The goal of building a Beowulf cluster was to create a cost-effective parallel computing system from mass-market commodity, off-the-shelf components to satisfy specific computational requirements in the earth and space sciences.
A Beowulf cluster is a group of usually identical servers running a FOSS (Free & Open Source Software) Unix-like operating system, such as Linux. They are networked into a small TCP/IP LAN, and have libraries and programs installed which allow processing to be shared among them. There is no particular piece of software that defines a cluster as a Beowulf. Commonly used parallel processing libraries include MPI (Message Passing Interface) and PVM (Parallel Virtual Machine). Both of these permit the programmer to divide a task among a group of networked computers, and recollect the results of processing. The name comes from the main character in the Old English epic Beowulf.
Beowulf Clusters have been used for everything from simple data mining, file serving, database serving, or web serving, to flight simulation, computer graphics rendering, weather modelling, or simply number crunching applications. Beowulf systems are now deployed worldwide, chiefly in support of scientific computing.
